DATSIK (Firepower Records // Dim Mak Records // Rottun Recordings - CA) www.datsik.ca www.firepowerrecords.com “I think dubstep has become so huge because it’s a complete bastardization of electronic music,” exclaims rapidly emerging young producer and artist DATSIK. “There’s a little bit of everything thrown in the mix and dirtied up. There are pieces of hip-hop, the bass from electronic dance tracks and the roots of U.K. garage and drum & bass…Dubstep is totally the punk rock of electronic music.” If DATSIK (born Troy Beetles) sounds more like a young rapper than one of the world’s preeminent young dubstepstars, it’s for good reason. The Kelowna, British Columbia, native grew up a hardcore rap fan that still pledges allegiance to classic Wu-Tang Clan and it permeates his dark, aggressive music. DATSIK’s future-tech dance-floor detonators exploded on the dubstep scene almost immediately, racking up a series of seven #1 tracks on Beatport, including at one time owning five of the ten tunes on their best-sellers chart. He’s also had smash hits on other music sites like Juno, Red Eye and Chemical Records and early remix credits include works for the biggest names in the game like Diplo, The Crystal Method and Bassnectar. HEROBUST (Busted Records // SMOG // SATURATE Records - USA) www.herobust.com/ HeRobust, otherwise known as Hayden Kramer, is an electronic producer from Atlanta, Georgia. In the short, two year existence of HeRobust, Kramer’s hip-hop inspired bass music has quickly garnered the attention of online media giants such as Rolling Stone, Vice, The Huffington Post, and MTV. 2012 saw a relentless release of music from Herobust. His downtempo beats got him attention from tastemakers such as Mad Decent and XLR8R, while his bass heavy remixes landed him as the second fastest growing artist on social media for fall on 2012 according to Billboard's Next Big Sound. 2013 has seen tours with Big Gigantic, Gramatik, and headlining and festival dates across the United States. It has also seen a barrage or original single's and EP's to critical acclaim. His busy schedule has paid off, getting his tracks played out by the likes of Skrillex, Bassnectar, Pretty Lights, and DJ Shadow. His latest effort, released via the infamous LA based label SMOG, SHEKNOWSHEBAD has received the support from legendary names such as Flux Pavilion, Dillon Francis and Kill The Noise. With a stacked touring schedule with Gramatik and Pretty lights, 2013 is shaping to launch heRobust into places never thought possible by the prolific young beatsmith. GETTER (Firepower Records - USA) www.soundcloud.com/Getter_Dubstep The unsung hero of underground bass culture, Getter has been taking over stages across the US since 2010, beginning at the ripe young age of 17. Before he could even buy his own pack of cigarettes, Getter was performing across the US and receiving support from genre pioneers DATSIK and Downlink. Fast forward to 2013, Getter has become known for ignoring trends and cutting his own path with ripping, guttural synths and a sprinkling of melody. 2013 has also seen Getter release his Beatport-chart-topping debut album "I Want More" on DATSIK's Firepower label--including a collaboration with the star himself. With his tunes being rinsed by the likes of Flux Pavilion, Rusko, DATSIK and Borgore (to name only a few) the future is looking very bright for this young blood. Catch Getter inciting riots at a small club, a massive festival or a broken down warehouse in a city near you!
