RYAN ADAMS & THE CARDINALShttp://www.ryan-adams.com
Mixing the heartfelt angst of a singer/songwriter with the cocky brashness of a garage rocker, Ryan Adams is at once one of the few artists to emerge from the alt-country scene to achieve mainstream commercial success, and he is the one who most strongly refused to be defined by the genre, leaping from one spot to another stylistically as he follows his increasingly prolific muse.
A long-term resident of New York City, Adams is best known for his song "New York, New York," which appeared on his 2001 release Gold. He has since released four more solo albums and two albums with backing band The Cardinals, with another album, Easy Tiger, due out in June, 2007.
Adams has also produced albums by Jesse Malin and Willie Nelson and contributed to the albums of artists including Beth Orton, The Wallflowers, Minnie Driver, Counting Crows, and America. He also appeared on CMT's Crossroads TV show with Elton John.
